Back home - Il ritorno a casa (Staycation, as they say)

Eccoci qua, a casa.

Siamo tornati lunedì, il 14; la città era vuota, i negozi erano chiusi... ci siamo rifugiati in un supermarket ed abbiamo comprato il minimo indispensabile per sopravvivere qualche giorno.

Negli occhi e nel cuore, ancora la vacanza appena trascorsa: il castello di Lincoln con le sue mura di cinta; il bioparco di Woodside con i rapaci, i rettili ed i lupi siberiani; le spiagge di Cleethorpes e la partita di ben 18 minuti sotto una pioggia torrenziale; il panico di arrivare tardissimo a Londra, e trovare una zona che non avevamo mai visto e che abbiamo subito amato.

I giorni a casa però, ci hanno regalato anche le sensazioni piacevolissime di quella che gli anglofoni chiamano "staycation", cioè la vacanza a casa. 
I ritmi lenti, gli orologi abbandonati, le gite a trovare i nonni, le cene in terrazzo e le serie su Netflix... tra poco finirà, ma ci ricorderemo di quanto è bello stare insieme, non importa se in terre lontane o tra le mura di casa.
Senza avere paura di non riuscire a prenotare nulla per le prossime ferie: c'è sempre la staycation! 😉

Here we are, at home.

We came back on monday, the 14th; the city was empty, shops closed... we found remedy in a supermarket, buying the minimum to survive for some days.

In our eyes and in our heart, still the holiday just finished: Lincoln Castle and its walls; Woodside Park with the birds of prey, the reptiles and the white wolves; Cleethorpes' beaches and the 18 minutes football match under a torrential rain; the frantic panic arriving very very late in London, only to find a still unknown area to love immediately.

Days at home though, have given us also the enjoyable feelings of "staycation".
Slow rythms, wrist watches forgotten somewhere in the bedroom, the trips to see grandparents, dinners on the terrace and Netflix TV series... shortly, it will come to an end, but we'll keep in mind how amusing is being together, no matter if in foreign territories or at home.
We are not afraid of not being able to book anything for next holidays: there's always staycation!😎
